Hemant Soren may take oath as Jharkhand CM alone, Cabinet to be sworn in later
A 30-year-old man in Chhattisgarh's Balrampur district made a shocking offering at a temple following the Lok Sabha election results on June 4. The man, identified as Durgesh Pandey, supports the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Initially disheartened by early election trends showing Congress in the lead, Pandey prayed at the Goddess Kali temple for a BJP victory. Later, as the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) began to emerge victorious, Pandey returned to the temple, severed his finger, and offered it to the Goddess.
Pandey attempted to stop the bleeding by tying a cloth around the wound. However, his condition worsened, and his family took him to the Community Health Centre in Samari, where doctors performed surgery. Due to the delay, they were unable to re-attach his finger. Pandey is currently stable and recovering.
Interacting with media Pandey said, “I made a vow…When the BJP was winning, I went to the temple and offered my finger. The BJP will now form the government, but I would have been happier if the NDA had crossed the 400 mark.”
